SPIRIT OF WRENS AWARDS

2017-18

Gordon Nolan ‘Spirit of Cricket Award’ – 2017-18

- For displaying the true spirit of cricket

DOMINIC MOREIRA – NDCA 5th Grade

STEPHEN RAVEN – NDCA 5th Grade Mo’s

Nominations:

Dom Moreira Dom always showed up to each game with an excellent attitude towards both fielding and batting. He always batted with the interests of the team at the forefront, opening when needed and seeing through though spells of bowling to him, playing each ball by its merit and respecting the bowlers and fielding team at all times. In the field, Dom would always give his all behinds he stumps, offering to help set up fields and playing with honesty when he may not have caught the ball or when he thought the batsman didn’t hit it.

Darren Falla... was called in numerous times to take the field despite being injured... was called in when I did the hammy and was there within 15 minutes.

Pat Fallance
Always played 5th grade to its full spirit, always playing with a smile on his face whilst also managing some good figures with bat and ball

Aditya GollakotaFor his immeasurableservice to our team, organising and spending his own free time to make sure we have team that plays every week

Steve Raven - always been a fantastic team player, really stepped up this NJ year in the face of the adversity he, and the Mo's faced. Always plays his cricket in the right spirit - is loved by everyone

Steve Raven

A club veteran who with his experience and wisdom plays the game in the right spirit whilst encouraging and supporting the more youthful members of the squad, displayed great courage in testing times last season.

Jarrod Roberts

His enthusiasm and passion for cricket is admirable has sacrificed and made changes to his lifestyle and is a lion hearted performer

Jonathon Stott

Mr cricket himself. A lion hearted performer on the field and his enthusiasm throughout the week leading up to the match.

Greg Doherty

Young consistent bowler. Unassuming and quiet but respectful player who gives his best every time

Cam Rawding

He played every game, many injured and stepped aside without question in the semis. Good team first attitude.

Terry Rogers Memorial Shield - 2017-18

- In Recognition of Outstanding Service to the Club

DARREN FALLA – NDCA 5th Grade Mo’s

Nominations:

Darren Falla

The Mos, and Wrens as a whole, wouldn't have been able to show our love and respect to Tez as a player and a person in such a special way without Daz.

Of course what Daz did in organising the testimonial night was beyond amazing, but right from the beginning of Tez's battle he kept us all in the loop in a way that was respectful to Tez, but meant we were able to be there for him as both teammates and mates as best as we could.

Personally, I'm extremely grateful for this since I definitely did not plan on playing as much with the Mos this season, but with Daz keeping me in the loop I was able to get back around the team and spend some great time with Tez in his last weeks.

Also, I don't know what may be planned already, but with utmost respect I don't think a nomination for Terry himself for the Nolan award isn't unwarranted. What better sums up the spirit of cricket than the drive to play the game as long as he did.

Pragash Haran - Pragash played all 18 games in the season and put in the effort all season. He was fully dedicated to the team and I think would really deserve that award

Hugo Dinan
Hugo was the workhorse for our team the whole season when it came to managing and organising almost everything to do with cricket for our team. Without him the team wouldn't of been possible [Ben Rosata]

Rafi Ebrahami - the work he did in keeping a side that was falling apart together - great leader, great bloke, fantastic club man

Rachit Mathur. Every break in play he was on the field with drinks and snacks to keep us going. Before games and innings he was either helping us warm ups or giving throw downs to our next batsmen. Without him, our year wouldn't of been the same!

Danny Young
Great team man who assists the captain and the team not just on the park but off it too.

Jeff Hamilton

He done a trying job in difficult circumstances last season in being appointed team captaining year.
