WRENS PRESENTATION NIGHT

And what a night we had!   Congratulations! The Rydalmere Wrens Executive sincerely thanks you for an outstanding year.

WRENS - MVP PLAYER OF THE YEAR

TODD PALMER                                  GOLD AWARD – PLAYER OF YEAR

Toddy is a very talented all-rounder and a genuinely good guy.  He is a sublime batsman who has a classical technique – plays in the “V”, aggressive when the team needs it and can dig in when things get tough.  In his first year as captain he showed good leadership and will blossom into a seasoned captain with more experience making tough decisions. Toddy is also a very handy bowler who generates pace and movement and accuracy off a short run-up.

Batting: Playing 8 matches in 1st grade, Todd scored a solid 169 runs at a respectable average of 24.1 runs per innings, including a highest score of 55.

Bowling: He bowled 84 overs and claimed 20 wickets at an excellent average of 9.8 runs per wicket, a miserly economy rate of 2.3 runs per over, and a strike rate of 25.2 balls per wicket. His best bowling was 7 for 20, including taking 11 wickets in one match. He took 4 catches including 1 run-out. Congrats on winning 1st place in the Wrens MVP Player of the Year.

HARRY MAGUIRE                          SILVER AWARD – PLAYER OF YEAR

Harry is a newcomer to the Wrens having played in our first ever ‘Fathers & Sons’ (or Dads & Lads) team in 4th grade.  Harry is an exceptionally talented young cricketer who dominates with the bat and ball.  He is a destructive batsman who scores quickly with powerful strokes to all parts of the ground. He is also a skilful bowler who swings the ball at will and generates excellent pace and bounce with the new pill.  Harry is a match-winner who can change a game when needed.

Batting: Playing 9 matches in 4th grade, Harry scored a superb 297 runs at an awesome average of 42.4 runs per innings, including a highest score of 113. He also made a score of 56 and made valuable contributions in other matches.

Bowling: Harry bowled 63 overs and claimed a solid 14 wickets at a ridiculous average of 7.0 runs per wicket, a meagre economy rate of 1.6 runs per over, and a strike rate of 26.7 balls per wicket.  His best bowling was a ridiculous 4 for 9! He took 7 catches and 0 run-outs. Congratulations on winning 2nd place.

ABHAY VENKAT                             BRONZE AWARD – PLAYER OF YEAR

Abhay proved to be quality and class from the first ball he hooked off the front of his grill for 6 in his first game for the Wrens. He is another talented all-rounder at the Wrens. He is a wonderfully gifted and aggressive batsman who scores big hundreds and is exciting to watch him plunder a bowling attack. He has a powerful drive and also pulls the short ball savagely into orbit.  Abhay opens the bowling with bounce, speed & variation in the air and off the seam. A phenomenal player.

Batting: Playing 9 matches in 2nd grade, Abhay scored a massive 260 runs at an impressive average of 28.9 runs per innings, including a highest score of 66. He also made 1 more score over fifty – 58 runs.

Bowling: Abhay bowled 91 overs and claimed a solid 15 wickets at an impressive average of 14.1 runs per wicket, an economy rate of 2.3 runs per over, and a strike rate of 36.3 balls per wicket.  His best bowling was a remarkable 5 for 21! He took 3 catches and 1 run-out. Congratulations on winning 3rd place.
